LHS Expands Dual Credit Program
Dual credit classes are nothing new to students at Loogootee High School, and with the start of the new school year come new dual credit opportunities for students. Dual credit classes meet a variety of needs for students, and LHS is continually working to structure classes to provide students with the most opportunities to prepare students for the next step in life. Dual credits allow students to receive college credit at a much lower cost to families, have their first experience with college coursework in a high school setting where they are familiar with the teachers, and build a foundation for future career pathways. For the 2017-18 school year, LHS is excited to announce the addition of the following dual credit classes:
These classes are being added in addition to the 77 dual credit hours offered last school year. LHS will continue to partner with IVY Tech College to offer the Statewide Transfer General Education Core of 30 hours. This program will transfer the core general studies credits to any Indiana state educational institution. Looking towards the future, LHS is aligning itself to one day offer an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. This is an ideal opportunity for students who plan to enter the workforce directly after high school.
