Learning a second language can be challenging and rewarding. This year your teenager will be learning new Spanish vocabulary, how to put words in sentences and paragraphs, and about the cultures and traditions that exist in the various countries where Spanish is spoken as well as the large Hispanic community within the United States.  It is important to remember that learning a second language requires hard work over time.  Your teenager will be expected to:

  1. Come to class prepared to learn.

  2. Pay attention and ask questions.

  3. Respect others and your surroundings.

  4. Try to participate and speak in Spanish daily.

  5. Complete assignments and go over work thoroughly.  estudio.quia.com

  6. Study vocabulary for 10 minutes each day.  www.quizlet.com

  7. Practice online activities.  www.quia.com, www.studyspanish.comwww.conjuguemos.com

I am looking forward to this school year, working with your teenager, and meeting you.  Please feel free to e-mail or call me at school if you have any questions or want to discuss your teen´s progress.  I will always try to get in touch with you as soon as possible.  The best time to reach me is after school or during 6th Period (1:40-2:15) or after school.  With your support, I am sure your teen will have a successful year.

Sincerely,

~Ronetta S. Bough
