PLTW Showcase

Bio Medical Students

Loogootee Community School Corporation was chosen as a Project Lead the Way(PLTW) Showcase corporation. At the Showcase on October 29th, approximately 50 educators from Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio visited the Loogootee Community Schools. The educators watched the students participating in PLTW classes.  They were also able to listen and ask questions of the teacher/student panel.

Loogootee is the smallest school in the nation to offer the PLTW curriculum for all students in grades Kindergarten-12th grade. Beginning at Kindergarten, Loogootee students learn the design process and engineering skills.  Throughout middle school, they are designing houses and wiring circuit boards.  In high school, they are involved in computer programming and biomedical classes.

Project Lead The Way is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for PreK-12 students and teachers across the U.S. PLTW empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges.  PLTW offers hands-on, real-world learning that is exciting and engaging for learners at any age.
