Welcome to another school year! It is wonderful to be teaching at the school from which I graduated in 1993.  I have been teaching at LHS for 20 years and feel blessed to have the privilege of working with and challenging some of the best and brightest students in Indiana. Upon graduating from LHS, I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in Biochemistry Education, a Master of Arts in Education from Olivet Nazarene, and have acquired over 18 graduate hours in biology and 18 graduate hours in chemistry primarily from Montana State University. These extra hours in biology and chemistry allow me to be the only teacher in the state of Indiana to offer dual credit, "majors-level" coursework in both biology and chemistry to those students that wish to major in a STEM field and offer elective-level coursework to those that wish to major in a field outside of STEM. The content presented in these courses allow Loogootee students to be properly prepared to excel in any of their post-secondary endeavors.

As well as teaching a multitude of courses, I also sponsor the LHS Beta Club.  The Beta Club is a national academic organization which promotes leadership by giving back to our community through volunteer pursuits.  To be a member of this organization, students must maintain a 3.5 GPA, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and volunteer for at least three volunteer projects throughout the year. I strongly encourage any student to join this prestigious organization when s/he is given an invitation to "Lead by Serving Others."

I look forward to this school year, as I believe that all students have individualized talents and that each student can use these talents to succeed in and make his/her classrooms, our school and our community better places to be. I hold high expectations for each of my students, for s/he will be a contributing member of our society in the future.

Please feel free to contact me at the above phone number or e-mail address if you have any questions or wish to discuss the progress of your child. The best time to reach me is from 8:55-9:41 A.M., as this is my preparatory time. I look forward to hearing from you!
